Ko Bo MooKiDo is a curriculum developed by Master Blaine Grissom based on 2 Weapon Arts in which he holds Black Belt
ranking. The arts are Kobudo and MooKiDo. Kobudo is the art of Okinawan weaponry which stands for the " Ancient Way to Stop
a Fight ", and MooKiDo is the art of Korean Weaponry and stands for the " Art of Weaponry ".
Master Grissom combined weaponry from each art to develop KoBuMooKiDo. The Okinawan weapons within the curriculum are:
Bo Staff, Nunchaku, Sai, Tonfa, Kama and Oar. The Korean weapons within the curriculum are : Tahn Bong ( short stick ) and
JiPangE ( cane ). Since the Okinawan weaponry is more dominant the color belt rankings are referred to as Kyu and the Black
Belt rankings are Okinawan as well.
Given that this system could be used as an excellent add on curriculum for Okinawan, Japanese or Korean styles of Karate,
Instructors may use their own titles based on their open hand style, such as; Sensei , Sah Bum Nim, etc....
